Brian Hurst
Growing up in rural Vermont, my early connection to nature has deeply influenced my design philosophy, driving me to create homes that feel like natural extensions of their surroundings.
My design journey began in theater, where I learned the importance of light, color, and creating emotional spaces. This foundation, combined with studies in fine art, architecture, and sculpture, shaped my approach to design.
After an award-winning career in picture framing, I transitioned to custom home building, where I became known for tackling unique and challenging projects. My experience spans from designing custom furnishings with my wife at Brandenburg Studios to working on specialty timber frame structures and historic restorations across 15 states.
I specialize in large-scale residential projects, bringing a builder’s perspective to create homes that are both beautiful and functional. My style is clean, simple, and timeless, with a touch of drama that transcends trends.
My work has been recognized with awards and featured in publications like Oregon Home and Luxurious Interiors. Nature continues to inspire me and in my free time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, camping, kayaking and paddle boarding
Looking ahead, I’m excited to take on new projects in unique locations, focusing on creating living, breathing works of art that clients will love for years to come.
