Betsy Brandenburg Hurst
With a highest-honors degree in Interior Architecture from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, Betsy brings nearly 20 years design experience to her projects. Her early career in San Francisco as a designer for a firm that specialized in high-end hotels earned her a top “30 under 30” designer award.
Since moving to Portland and starting Brandenburg Studios Design in 2005, she has worked to enhance the beauty, function, and livability of homes, not only in Portland but Seattle, San Francisco and the Chicago area as well. Her commitment to professional excellence has led her to maintain an AKBD (Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer) certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Emma grew up in a family engrossed in the world of design+build. Though departing from the family business to pursue a BA in History in her early 20s, she maintained a strong connection and love for architecture.
Emma went back to school in 2015 in order to fully explore her love of interior design. She is a painter and avid global traveler, inspired by her time in India, Africa, Central America and Europe. She brings her creative aesthetic, love of color and attention to intricate details to each project.
Dani joined BSD in October of 2019, while completing her Interior Design degree at Portland Community College. With a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, she graduated with a highest-honors achievement, and Certificates in Kitchen and Bath Design, and Interior Furnishings. She is currently studying for her Associate of Kitchen and Bath certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Dani has always had a passion for design, creativity, and working with her hands. She is a weaver and macrame artist and works with concrete and wood to create interior art objects which she has sold online and at craft markets. She plays the drums, has lived abroad in England, and has a sweet little Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher mix named Ivy June. Dani’s attention to detail, unique aesthetic, and enthusiasm for design are strengths she brings to her work.
